YOUR TEACHING STYLE: Creative & thoughtful

MUSIC/SONGS ON ROTATION IN YOUR CLASS: Classic favorites from the 50s, 60s and 70s, pop hits of the 80’s and 90’s and a few current radio rotation— but mostly, Candy is always living la vida 90s. 

FAVORITE BARRE MOVE: At the Barre good old point, tap, lift, pulse always does the trick and exercises with hand weights or props are my favorite. Chair pose and I are frienemies, one day we hate each other the next day we are besties again. 

FAVORITE PHILLY RESTAURANT: It changes with my mood and dietary restrictions/preferences but when I need a good pasta, La Locanda Del Ghittone in Olde City is the place to be. 

TWO THINGS STILL LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST: I’m doing the thing on my bucket list! I always wanted to become a fitness person and be the strong healthy warrior woman I knew was in there. I am living my dream because if cauliflower can become pizza, then I can become an empowering fitness instructor. Still on the list is being a published author and one day I will achieve that goal as well. 

IF YOU HAD ONE EXTRA HOUR OF FREE TIME A DAY, HOW WOULD YOU USE IT: I would probably spend it sleeping or realistically doing household chores, like laundry.

Candy is a classically trained Pilates and Barre fitness instructor believing the benefits of fitness and exercise are for all bodies, ages and ability levels. She completed her Barre Training at Lumos Yoga & Barre in October of 2018, and completed the Drexel University Pilates training program - mat completed fall 2018, tower & chair completed winter 2019, reformer anticipated completion spring 2019.

A former Master’s level Medical Social Worker and AASECT certified Sexuality Educator, Candy pivoted into the fitness world after being a lifelong couch potato and has embraced a new life outlook that includes physical fitness and movement as apart of mental and emotional wellbeing.

Candy strives to provide an accessible and awesome sweat session for people of all physical levels and abilities having you leaving class with a positive feeling about your body and what you have accomplished. 

When not exercising, Candy can mostly be found spending quiet time at home with her twin Maltipoo dogs (Porsche and Harley) or getting a facial, as skincare is the other love of her life.
