YOUR TEACHING STYLE: Energetic, fun, challenging
MUSIC/SONGS ON ROTATION IN YOUR CLASS: I try to change up my playlists pretty often because I get bored listening to the same songs over and over, but I love adding in some Pitbull when I can. He makes class feel like a party and who doesn’t love that!
FAVORITE BARRE MOVE: The lunge! I’m a big lunge lover, and there are so many variations. I love starting in a parallel lunge and then switching over to a hover lunge where you lift your back leg and hang off the barre. It’s a quad killer, but I love how strong I feel afterward.
FAVORITE PHILLY RESTAURANT: Panorama in Old City! I’m a sucker for Italian food.
TWO THINGS STILL LEFT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST: I really want to visit Italy. I’ve never been there, but it’s the trip I really want to take. Another big bucket list item is to go white water rafting!
IF YOU HAD ONE EXTRA HOUR OF FREE TIME A DAY, HOW WOULD YOU USE IT: I would spend it with family and friends as much as possible. I work anywhere from 10-14 hours a day between grad school and teaching full-time, so I don’t have a lot of spare time. I would take that hour to either nap, or see loved ones.

Colleen is originally from the Pocono Mountains where she fell in love with dancing at a young age. She began her dance training in various styles such as jazz, ballet, tap, and hip hop and went on to compete and perform all over the country! Transitioning from student to teacher was an easy evolution, and she hasn’t looked back since.
Throughout her time at Temple University, she developed a passion for fitness and its world of possibilities. Colleen became a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise, and has worked with clients ranging from beginners to professional athletes.
Combining her backgrounds, she specializes in Barre classes bringing her love for dance to her passion for exercise. She continues to dance professionally with jazz company, Project Moshen, and performing company, Sanbrooka Productions as well as develop her role to the Philadelphia fitness community.
