Illuminate Your Practice: Lumos Yoga Immersion
Illuminate your yoga practice in this two-part immersion co-lead by Lumos Co-Founder Larkin Silverman and Mindful Elephant Founder Juli Fussell.
Whether you’re looking to take a deeper dive into the practice you already know and love, or are looking to start your yoga journey with knowledge, clarity, and precision, this two part immersion series is for you.
Over the course of two weekends in early November and December of 2019, we will break down the anatomy and biomechanics of common yoga poses in a detailed posture clinic, deepen or develop a deliberate Pranayama (breathing) and Meditation practice, and discuss the history, lineages, and philosophy(ies) of yoga. We'll also discuss how Western Culture has impacted (and potentially appropriated) the practice as we experience it today, and what it means to take your practice “off of your mat” and into the rest of your life.
Dates and duration:
Part I: Saturday November 2, 2019 1:30-6:30pm & Sunday November 3rd 1:30-4:30pm
Part II: Saturday December 7, 2019 1:30-6:30pm & Sunday December 8, 2019, 1:30-4:30pm
16 hours total, Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credit available
You are welcome to independently procure personal copies of the books we will be referencing over the course of both weekends, The Namas & Niyamas by Deborah Adele, and Yoga Mat Companion 1: Anatomy for Vinyasa Flow and Standing Poses by Ray Long
You should bring your own mats (rental mats available for $2 per daily session), plenty of snacks if you wish, and whatever else you need to feel comfortable throughout the duration of the series.

Mindful Elephant Founder Juli Fussell is a Yoga Alliance RYT-500hr & E-RYT-200 hr Certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor, and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, and received additional training via Yoga International in Restorative Yoga and Yoga Anatomy. Juli spent 20 years in a corporate learning and development career (and loved it) but felt a calling in 2015 to take her knowledge and skills of adult learning and evolve into teaching yoga. Kripalu means being compassionate and the practice invites you to go inward, listen to your greatest teacher within, and to love and nurture your body along the way. Juli believes that on our mats we can tune in to our body, mind, emotions, and our spirit in new and profound ways. She feels it is an opportunity to learn more about ourselves every time we practice yoga, and it's this knowledge that better equips us for the real practice..... living life off the mat.
