Taproot Farm CSA+ Field Flower Club CSA
Taproot Farm CSA
Taproot Farm is a 200 acre Certified Organic produce farm in Berks County, Pennsylvania. The farm uses Organic practices to grow a diverse variety of vegetables and berries and provides it to our customers at its peak freshness.
George Brittenburg and Ola Creston started Taproot Farm in 2009 with a young family, 5 acres of rented ground, and a small tractor. As first generation farmers, they built Taproot Farm from the ground up and are pleased to have expanded the farm over the years so that it can serve as a lasting source of local, healthy Organic food. George and Ola see Organic farming as vital to protecting the environment, and they’re passionate about the work they do.
Today, you can find Taproot Farm at the Chestnut Hill Farmers Market, and they’ve expanded their CSA program to have pickups throughout the Philadelphia area. We are excited to partner with Taproot to become the Fairmount pickup site for CSA shares this season!

The Field Flower Club CSA
Join the first year of The Field Flower Club, The Field’s Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) Program! The Field is a budding cut flower farm that brings slow and sustainably grown, high quality blooms to Philly from just 40 miles north of the city. The Field was started by Adriana Adelé, a Philadelphia-based yoga instructor and teacher trainer at Three Queens Yoga in Queen Village.
With membership to The Field Flower Club, you will receive a lush bouquet of The Field’s seasonal, local flowers every other week. Each share’s bouquet will have 15+ stems of that week’s freshly harvested, best looking blooms from The Field.
There are two seasonal shares you can join in on:
High Summer - imagine the floral version of biting into a just ripe local summer strawberry, bright and delighting, with freshly harvested flowers in a seasonal progression of snapdragons, lisianthus, dahlias, sunflowers, marigolds, zinnias, cosmos and more. Dates: June 17th to August 12th (5 bouquet pickups)
Into Fall - picture late summer sunset dreaminess into rich, grounding almost sweater season hues and textures with the best of the season’s dahlias, cosmos, zinnias, marigolds, asters, heirloom chrysanthemum and then some. Dates: September 2nd to October 14th (4 bouquet pickups)
Beyond having seasonal, local blooms gracing your home and catching your eye without much extra thought. CSAs are a symbiotic, beneficial relationship between farmer and flower lover! You are investing in our small Black woman owned farm and the values of sustainability, reverence for the Earth, and reducing harm to the planet we call home. As a sincere thank you thank you thank you, our Flower Club Bouquets are priced below our regular retail price for a bouquet of the same size.

CSA FAQ’s:
✔︎ How do these partnerships with Lumos work?
Ola at Taproot Farm reached out to us in the Spring of 2025 to see if we’d be interested in being a pickup site for their CSA subscriptions. They offer pickup sites throughout the city, but never had one in Fairmount. We loved the idea, and signed on! At Lumos, working with other small businesses and providing more opportunities for health and wellness to our neighborhood is a core tenant of our business.
In 2026, we connected with Adriana to become a pickup site for her Field Flower Club as it expands to new areas of Philadelphia. We’re excited to bring fresh, local flowers to our neighborhood, something that isn’t readily available outside of grocery stores.
Lumos is the pickup site for Fairmount, which means on Wednesdays from 4:30-7:30 PM, subscription holders will come to our Spring Garden studio (1822 Spring Garden Street), ring the bell to get buzzed in, and pick up your labeled box or bouquet from the studio vestibule.
✔︎ What if I can’t pick up one week? Do you offer any other pickup times?
As of now, we will only offer pickups between 4:30 and 7:30 PM on Wednesdays. We cannot hold shares beyond the end of the pickup window at 7:30 PM. If you are unable to pickup one week, we suggest seeing if a friend or neighbor can pick up for you. Any unclaimed shares at the end of the evening will go home with our staff or be donated!
Please note that while Taproot CSA is a weekly share box and pickup, Field Flower Club is bi-weekly - pickups are every other date. Please make note of the dates in your calendar for pickup!
✔︎ Payment Info
All signups and payment are done through the CSA websites. Lumos does NOT handle any transactions or payment for the CSA shares. For Taproot, you have the option to pay in full, or pay in 2 or 3 installments. They accept SNAP/EBT, Credit Cards, and Electronic Check. When paying with SNAP, please select that option at checkout.
✔︎ What should I do with the contents of my Taproot box?
Along with your veggies, Taproot sends weekly emails with veggie storage tips, cooking tips, and specially crafted recipes just for your CSA that week.
✔︎ Taproot Share Add Ons:
Egg, fruit, cheese, mushroom, yogurt, honey, and pasta share add-ons are available for all vegetable share members. To add on to your share, please visit https://www.taprootfarmpa.com/extra-shares for more information. You will be able to choose add-ons at checkout for your season’s subscription.
