Pilates Classes

Whether you're just starting a fitness routine or a seasoned athlete, pilates is a great modality for any level of fitness experience! Pilates focuses on building core strength and stability, learning proper alignment, and improving flexibility - it truly is for every body. Our Pilates classes follow the principles developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900's.

All levels are welcome, and modifications and options are always provided.

Reformer Pilates

Reformer pilates are done using a machine with sliding carriage, ropes and pulleys, and springs to increase resistance. It increases the repertoire of exercise available and works muscles through larger ranges of motions. Attendees will move in a controlled manner against an adjustable spring system, adding more or less resistance, which allows for a full body workout that doesn't put strain on sensitive joints. Try a Reformer class today to work on flexibility, strength, and mobility!

Jumpboard Pilates

The Pilates Jumpboard, also known as a Rebounder, is a firm jumping surface for jumping and plyometric exercise on the Rerformer. Jumpboards are a great way to add some cardio to your Pilates routine - they help reach and maintain your target heart rate as if you were running, but without the stress that running puts on your joints.

Springboard Pilates

These wall-mounted boards provide a full-body workout through the use of springs, adding a coordination challenge to your body and mind, and helps build control and body strength. Precise movements give you better strength, flexibility, posture, and alignment.

Pilates Springboard is for everyone! All ages, body types, and exercise backgrounds can gain the benefits from Pilates Springboard classes.

Reformer/Springboard 30/30

Get the best of two worlds - our Reformer/Springboard 30/30 class includes 30 minutes of Reformer work, followed by 30 minutes of Springboard work. Both appartuses allow you to move in a controlled manner, utilizing springs in different ways!

Mat/Springboard Pilates Fusion

Our Mat/Springboard Pilates Fusion class blends classical mat pilates with equipment pilates, weaving mat exercises in between the spring-based resistance exercises for arms and legs. The use of springs combined with slow movements allows attendees to focus on core stabilization and strength, all while building muscle balance.

Pilates Core Express

While pilates starts with strengthening and stabilizing the core - the deep muscles of your back, abdomen, and pelvic floor - it is a low-impact, full body workout. When your core is strong, your posture improves, your neck and shoulders can relax, and your muscles and joints don't over-exert doing their everyday jobs!

Most classes just use a mat for cushioning and support, but sometimes will incorporate equipment such as a ball, ring or weights.
