Outdoor Classes

In 2020, we began offering seasonal outdoor classes. We’ll be returning back outdoors for our fourth year in a row, offering classes at The Corinthian Gardens. Classes are accessible for all levels - beginners are welcome! Outdoor classes will run from mid-April through mid-October.

Barre Classes

While barre has its origins in ballet, no dance experience is needed, and all levels of fitness experience are welcome in this class. Alternating between standing at the barre and mat-based exercises, our 45-minute barre classes consists of low impact/high repetition movements, with small isometric exercises to sculpt your arms, abdominals, and legs.

Yoga Classes

At Lumos, we offer a variety of yoga classes, and feature vinyasa classes. Our all-levels Flow classes will have you exploring awareness and mindfulness, building strength, and exploring the potential of moving with your breath. The studio is unheated and classes are set to music.

Yoga Sculpt Classes

Yoga Sculpt is a dynamic practice that combines strength training with traditional yoga sequences. We couldn't resist giving ours a Philly spin with the name "Sculpt Jawn!"

Yogis will feel familiar with many of the postures, and barre enthusiasts will be accustomed to the use of hand weights. Sculpt Jawn ups the ante from each of those separate workouts, amplifying familiar movements with the addition of hand weights - some instructors mix in cardio calisthenics, and the occasional dance party, and all will cool things back down with a yoga stretch.

Each instructor has their own style and format - because variety is the spice of life! Remember - weights are always optional, and options to amp it up or dial it down will always be provided.

Pilates Classes

Whether you're just starting a fitness routine or a seasoned athlete, pilates is a great modality for any level of fitness experience! Pilates focuses on building core strength and stability, learning proper alignment, and improving flexibility - it truly is for every body.

Our newest location at 835 Corinthian Avenue exclusively offers Pilates classes - group Mat, Springboard, and Reformer classes.

Prenatal & Postpartum Classes

Whether you're early on in pregnancy, closer to your due date, fourth trimester, or beyond - join RaGina for Mama’s LIIT on Thursdays, and Alyssa for Prenatal/Postpartum Yoga on Fridays. These classes are meant to support and strengthen moms to be their best self for themselves and their babies! All classes are capped a lower capacity so everyone gets a little more individualized attention from our Certified Prenatal Postpartum Fitness Trainer and Yoga Instructors.

Starting in July 2023, this class will be open for parents to bring babies - age limit up to crawling. If bringing a baby, please note that when booking by adding a child to your reservation. We kindly request that if possible, bring baby in a carrier/wrap versus in a stroller since our lobby space is limited!

HIIT & Combo Classes

We offer a variety of HIIT and Combo classes, designed to pump up your heart rate, tone muscles, and strengthen your core.

Its LIIT - our branded version of a "HIIT," or "High Intensity Interval Training" workout class is a 45-minute workout using free weights, body weight, calisthenics, ballistic movements, and resistance style training, while incorporating active periods of rest and recovery.

The Works is a 45 minute core-strengthening workout combining moves from a variety of modalities, including yoga, pilates, barre, and sculpt! You’ll work the full body, utilizing a series of sculpt, pilates, and barre-based techniques that might call for bands, hand weights, balls or free standing balance work.

Stretching Classes

With so much of our daily lives spent sitting at desks and looking at screens, taking the time to stretch out fully and safely is increasingly important. Taught in accessible and clear language, our "Stretch & Restore" class is great for everyone - whether you're a professional dancer looking to explore the bounds of your flexibility, or as stiff as the Tin Man and dream of one day touching your toes.

While we don’t have dedicated weekly beginner classes, we’ve got some recommendations for what classes and instructors are a great place to start.

Community Classes

At Lumos Yoga & Barre, we believe that fitness should be accessible to anyone who would like to participate, and offer community classes to the Fairmount neighborhood of Philadelphia.

We offer $8 Community Yoga and Barre Classes at Lumos, which allows people to be able to participate in fitness classes at a lower cost than a regular drop-in or class package.
