Sam Leonetti

Hi, there, I’m Sam; plant lady, cat mom, and yoga teacher. I aim to create classes that encourage you to get curious about your asana practice; seeking new sensations in familiar poses. My teaching style is a mixture of anatomy lessons, fluid sequencing, and ways to translate the mindfulness we cultivate in class off the mat and into our day to day lives.

I first came to yoga asana through aerial yoga in 2104 and absolutely fell in love with it. That segued into vinyasa and restorative yoga classes, completing a beautiful trifecta of powerful, restful, and creative styles of asana. In 2016 I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher and 25 hour Registered Yoga Assist Certificates at Hot Asana Yoga Studio in Durham, NC. Since then I have completed 50 additional hours of Yoga Anatomy + Applied Anatomy Sequencing Training at Y7 Studio in NYC and have taught over 1400 hours of yoga asana classes. I’m also currently in med school to get my Doctor of Physical Therapy so I will be infusing my anatomy and biomechanics knowledge into my classes.
